SMITE 2 is the next generation of cross-platform third-person MOBA. It is a true sequel to SMITE, fully modernized and rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5.

SMITE 2 is being designed and developed by the team at Titan Forge Games, who have spent the last decade focused on SMITE. The team is built of developers who have been working on SMITE since day 1, former SMITE pros and community members, and experienced developers who love SMITE; the average SMITE 2 team member has more than 6 years of experience working at Titan Forge Games or a sister studio.

SMITE is an amazing game, loved by millions, that is built on a technical foundation that is now well over a decade old. This technical debt holds back what SMITE can be, from graphics to UI to audio to god creation and so much more. SMITE’s Unreal Engine 3 is not directly compatible with Unreal Engine 5, and there was no path to upgrade what we had without completely rebuilding. SMITE 2 starts from scratch and rebuilds SMITE to bring it into the modern age.

SMITE 2 should feel like the SMITE you know and love, just strictly better. Our core starting goal was to capture the magic of SMITE’s core combat and the MOBA formula. From there, we took every opportunity possible to make combat feel more impactful, enable more creative gameplay, and add additional strategic depth.

SMITE 2 will have cross-play and cross-progression across PC, SteamDeck, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5.

SMITE 2 is a next-gen native title, in development for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and SteamDeck.

SMITE 2 is still in a pre-alpha development state. We hope to begin very early monthly alpha weekend testing with our community in Spring 2024. This is a true early alpha; a limited god roster will be available, and many features outside of the core gameplay experience will be unavailable.

Titan Forge Games believes that the best way to build a great multiplayer game is alongside its community. We followed the same strategy with SMITE in the early days on PC, and on console. We want to be sure we’re making the game that you want to play, changing things that you want changed, and responding to your feedback.

• PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X or Epic Games Store: Visit SMITE2.com, click “Register for Alpha,” and enter your email address. You will receive an email with an access code when access is granted.

SMITE 2 will be free-to-play upon full release. During our Alpha and Beta testing phases, players will need to redeem a free key, gain access via Steam Playtest, or purchase a Founder’s Edition to play. This limited access is so we can build and shape SMITE 2 alongside a smaller core community throughout our testing phases.

Most SMITE 1 content will not directly transfer to SMITE 2, but SMITE players will be rewarded for their time, money, and achievements through two new systems: Legacy Gems, and Divine Legacy. In addition, new skins added to SMITE 1 in Season 11, along with some limited other cross-gen skins, will transfer between the games (see below for more).

For every Gem that you've ever spent in SMITE 1 – free or purchased – you'll receive a Legacy Gem in SMITE 2. Legacy Gems can be used to pay for 50% of the price of most in-game purchases in SMITE 2 – so things like skins, Battle Passes, and events in SMITE 2 will be half-off until you spend all of your Legacy Gems.
If you purchase a SMITE Founder’s Edition, your Legacy Gems will be doubled. As SMITE 2’s currency is changing slightly from SMITE, this ensures that you will have equivalent purchasing power. (Equivalency based on Gems per dollar value when purchased at the $99.99 currency edition.) We’ll have more details to share about our Founder’s Editions soon.

The Divine Legacy is a new event in SMITE 1 designed to reward you for your progress and achievements over each year of SMITE’s history. We’ve tracked the gods you’ve mastered, the ranked matches you’ve lost, the skins you’ve unlocked, and the match hours you’ve played. You earn points for your progress in each year, and your points are tallied together to give you rewards:

• You can unlock a choose-your-own Tier 5 and a choose-your-own Tier 4 in SMITE 1
• You’ll unlock up to 11 skins in SMITE 2, free – one for each year of SMITE
• You’ll get a number of SMITE 2 Badges to show off some of your amazing SMITE 1 achievements, your rare skins – and your exact Mastery Level and Star Count on each God. Don't worry: You'll be able to show off those 100 stars on Nox in SMITE 2.

All new, gem-purchasable skins released in SMITE in Year 11 will be Cross-Gen skins. Purchasers will receive these skins in SMITE 2 as well as SMITE. Titan Forge Games rebuilt its internal skin development pipeline to be able to support this for Year 11, which effectively requires building each skin twice.

Yes! SMITE 1 will continue to receive regular updates and servers will remain available for the foreseeable future. Players will be able to access all of their SMITE 1 content in SMITE 1.

SMITE 2 is a multi-generational leap from SMITE 1, from Unreal Engine 3 to UE5. That means we have to completely rework or recreate every piece of content for it to function in SMITE 2. There are currently over 1,600 skins in SMITE, excluding Mastery skins. To just port every skin to SMITE 2 would take about 246 person-years of work. And we couldn’t both do that, and make SMITE 2 as amazing as we knew it could be if we focused on starting anew.

Players will need to link their SMITE 1 account to their SMITE 2 account in order to receive Cross-Gen content and Legacy Gems in SMITE 2.

You cannot link new SMITE 1 platform accounts after you link to SMITE 2. Please be sure you have linked all of your SMITE 1 accounts at https://my.hirezstudios.com/linked-accounts before linking to SMITE 2.

In order to link, you must log into SMITE on the platform you intend to play SMITE 2 on, then click “Link Account” from within the Divine Legacy tab. This will link your SMITE 1 account to that platform account.

Account linking is irreversible. Be sure you are on the platform you intend to play SMITE 2 on before clicking Link Account.

Closer to the release of SMITE 2, you will be able to link your SMITE 2 account from your primary account platform to other platform accounts to enable cross-progression in SMITE 2.
